For the final project of my intro to HCI class, we had to design a high-fidelity interactive prototype of a native app which responded to a problem within one of four business markets. My team chose to attack the influencer market. Through our initial research, we discovered that small business owners and small influencers had virtually zero methods to help them grow their audiences, especially in the fashion industry: many business- and influencer-growing platforms have steep subscription prices, which appeals to larger brands and wealthier individuals because such a cost is not feasible for low-income business owners and influencers; and small businesses and influencers do not have enough of an audience or experience to be “acceptable” marketers of bigger influencers and brands (respectively). Our social media-esque app intends to bridge this gap, bringing small brand owners and influencers together so they can help each other grow for little to no cost.

There are two modes, Influencer and Business, where each user can set up an account with a “portfolio” of their content, attach their external social media accounts, and list their qualifications and experiences. A search feature allows users to explore potential partners through keywords related to their own content. If a user finds another user with whom they want to connect, a chat feature lets them discuss a partnership. Conversation starters are always available, which are especially useful for users new to the fashion market, or users can discuss freely. When two partners have reached an agreement, they sign to the “Terms of Partnership”, a virtual document set forth by the app outlining the responsibilities and ethics of a new business connection. The number of business connections is listed on each account’s profile, which represents how successful each influencer or brand has become on the app. Once a user reaches 50K business connections, they will have “graduated” and their account will be frozen — this ensures the app is strictly for users who are new to the market and have small audiences.

Test out the interactive prototypes below! I designed the majority of the visual layouts, the Influencer interaction flow, and the color scheme. Look through our process book to see all the other steps we took.
